Dr. med. Barbara Hendel
Since my childhood I have been interested in medicine, and it was always my dream to become a doctor. At my father's request, I first studied business administration at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. I finished my studies with a diploma and immediately began studying human medicine, also at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. After another six years, I successfully completed my medical studies with my doctoral thesis in the field of dermatology.
After finishing my education as an assistant physician in forensic medicine, I took over the management of the medical department of the pharmaceutical company Klinge-Nattermann Puren. There I was jointly responsible for the success of the newly founded generics division. At the same time, I continued my training in naturopathy.
After working 10 years in the pharmaceutical industry, I fulfilled my dream and established a day clinic for naturopathy and nutritional medicine near Munich. The focus of my medical activity centered in part on a holistic therapeutic approach, and in part on health care, in particular on strengthening and balancing the immune system. My aim is to eliminate the causes of illness, instead of only suppressing symptoms.
The treatment of chronic diseases such as allergies, recurring infections, intestinal diseases and obesity is particularly close to my heart. I want to achieve lasting healing for the patient by stimulating and activating the self-healing powers of the immune system, through changing diet and lifestyle. What I find responsible for healing success is a combination of biological regulative therapies, preventive and regenerative measures as well as nutritional recommendations individually adapted to the situation of the individual and a switch to a healthy lifestyle.
From my own experience I have learned that traditional medicine has its limits, especially with chronic illnesses, and that alternative healing methods can be very effective in this area. Conventional medicine has undergone enormous development in recent decades and is largely responsible for the ability of people today to live on average 30 years longer than 100 years ago. However, a long life is only worth striving for when one can balance mental and physical health at the same time. Each of us can contribute a great deal to this goal.
To educate people about a healthy and conscious lifestyle, and to give them strategies to help themselves stay physically and mentally healthy and vital into old age, are among my central tasks. This also includes the recommendation of appropriate dietary supplements. For many years I have been involved in the development of health products and effective dietary supplements.
My philosophy of a healthy and conscious lifestyle can be found in the numerous health books I've written and made accessible to a wide audience.
